About
Welcome to Kichi Japanese Food, a true gem nestled in the heart of Banyuwangi, Indonesia. Situated on Jl. Banjarsari, this cozy haven is more than just a restaurant; it’s a culinary experience waiting to be discovered.
As soon as you step in, you're enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a Ghibli film. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between casual comfort and delightful charm, making it an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and casual family outings. Customers rave about Kichi's cozy vibe, with many highlighting its clean environment as a perfect backdrop for a memorable meal.
Now, let’s dive into the food – the star of the show at Kichi. Touted as having the best donburi in town, dishes like the Gyukatsu have garnered rave reviews. Imagine biting into perfectly crispy breaded beef that's juicy and tender on the inside. The experience is elevated with a DIY grilling touch, allowing diners to savor each moment, maximizing flavor and fun. Enthusiastic food lovers like Liam Wellington have called it “heaven in every bite,” and it’s easy to see why.
The menu, while succinct, is a testament to Kichi’s commitment to quality over quantity. Each dish is crafted with care, making even simple offerings feel exceptional. The Karaage Don is said to be a comforting portion that over-delivers on flavor, while the Milk Pudding has been described as "smooth and yummy," leaving patrons wanting more. As customer Amirah TF Zaen noted, the prices at Kichi are more than fair for the quality on offer.
However, with great food comes the need for great service. Some guests like Nimrod Gans have pointed out that service can sometimes be slow, suggesting an area for improvement. Yet, with the quality of cuisine at Kichi, many agree that the delicious food compensates for any minor service hiccups.
In summary, Kichi Japanese Food isn’t just a dining location, but rather a celebration of Japanese cuisine in Banyuwangi. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this hidden gem deserves a spot on your culinary map. With its cozy atmosphere and standout dishes, Kichi is poised to become your go-to destination for hearty, authentic Japanese food. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu!
“ worth the price, gonna back to taste the other menu obv ”
“ Amazing spot! The food was absolutely delicious—authentic Japanese flavors that blew me away. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for travelers looking to soak in cool vibes. A must-visit! PS. You gotta try the Gyukatsu ”
“ WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Passed by Glagah street a few times and got curious about this new spot, kinda regret not finding it sooner. This place is such a hidden gem, honestly the best Japanese food in Banyuwangi (IMHO). The vibes are super cozy, clean and even a bit Ghibli-like. We came for dinner, it was pretty busy but the food came out fast enough. The Gyukatsu is the star : so good, 10/10. The Karaage Don had loads of chicken, really comforting. My kid enjoy the Omurice. The menu isn’t huge (no sushi or ramen) but I think that’s the point, they keep it simple and everything tastes great. The Milk Pudding was smooth and yummy too. For the flavor and experience, the price is 100% worth it. Hope they keep up the consistency with both taste and cleanliness. Wishing them the best and I hope this place will get more popular! They really deserve it ”
“ Cozy place, warm and delicious meal, worth the hype, worth every penny. They have the best donburi in townnn btw. ”
“ OMG, I just had the best time at KICHI The gyukatsu was absolute perfection, crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside. Heaven in every bite! I couldn’t stop smiling while eating The place has such a fun, cozy vibe too, and the staff were all smiles, making sure we had everything we needed. Food came out fast, hot, and fresh, and the little DIY grilling touch, So cool! Honestly, I’m already craving it again. If you love good food and good vibes, you’ve GOT to try this spot. 10/10, hands down! ”
“ The food was great but the service was really lacking. Getting a waiter was a struggle and it did not seem like they have one. There was one girl that may have been the owner and walked around and helped us. The kitchen staff (which I saw on my way to the bathroom) were just standing and chatting which might explain the slow service. The place was not packed so that was not the issue. However, I still think the food is great and if the service improved it will be a 5 star. ”
